LITTLE PORTUGAL – PROFILE

Little Portugal

Little Portugal is also known as Portuguese Village. It is located from Ossington Ave to Landsdown Ave and in between Queen Street West and College Street. Dundas Street West runs right through the middle of this vibrant and growing neighbourhood. This street is often the destination for an evening out in Little Portugal. You will find great Portuguese food here; check out Bairrada Churrasqueira for the best. The Black Hoof is located on Dundas Street West and is a favourite of well know TV host and author, Anthony Bourdain.

Purchasing a home in this area is perfect for families looking to be close to schools and community centers. Kids and teens hang around at Mary McCormick Recreation Centre on Brock Street, which has a pool, arena, gym and educational programs. There are three public schools and a Catholic school within Little Portugal’s borders.

Over the last few years there has been a recent development of real estate in and around Dundas Street West, making this a perfect time to look for properties for sale in Little Portugal. The area is well-served by the TTC. There are the 505 and 506 streetcar lines along Dundas and College. There are north-south bus lines on Lansdowne, Dufferin, and Ossington.

Beaconsfield Avenue Victorian Homes are an amazing piece of history where you could still live in or maintain as investment grade property

In the past, homes like these were used as Bed and Breakfast or multi family homes, as     even by today’s standards these homes are too big for just one family.

Local developers are breathing life into THESE old victorian charmers – as attractive for their live-in charm as they are as an investment grade acquisition.
